Start with what needs to change

A workshop, assessment or coaching engagement is only useful if it addresses the right problem. The work starts by understanding what is happening now, what good would look like, and what will help someone do something differently.

Understand before Designing

Sometimes the requested solution is exactly right. Sometimes a request for a workshop, assessment or offsite is pointing to a different issue. A short diagnostic conversation helps clarify the goal before choosing the intervention.

Make it practical

Insight matters, but it has to survive contact with the workplace. Development is connected to real decisions, conversations, projects and people — with space between sessions to try something, learn from it and come back with a real example.

Challenge with respect

Growth Through Challenge means being willing to question an assumption, notice a pattern or have the conversation someone may be avoiding — while treating the person with respect. The aim is not to be provocative. It is to help people see more clearly and act more deliberately.

What changes, and how will we know?

Where behaviour change is the goal, we agree on observable outcomes at the start and revisit them at the end. The measure depends on the work: it may involve the participant, their manager, relevant stakeholders or a behaviour-based assessment.

Not every tool is designed to measure change. Where an assessment describes relatively stable traits or preferences, it is used for insight and development rather than as a before-and-after scorecard.
